Hit filmmaker and writer Anees Bazmee recently shared his thoughts on filmmaking and working with actors while interacting with media at the Jagran Film Festival in Mumbai. Known for his box-office hits like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Bazmee emphasized that his passion lies in creating good films, regardless of where the story comes from.
“When it comes to filmmaking, I wish to be part of every good film,” he said. “I don’t believe in all this, ‘I will do this and I will not do that.’ Films are my passion, and I wish to keep making good films. A good film can draw its inspiration from anywhere—sometimes a news article inspires me, sometimes a conversation with a character leads to a story. The source doesn’t matter; what matters is that we make a good film.”
Bazmee also spoke highly of the new generation of actors, praising their professionalism and energy. “I have worked with everyone. These young actors are doing a fantastic job—they are more organized, more prepared, and they learn the craft before entering the fraternity. Communication with the younger lot is always friendly. Their energy inspires you to keep up with them, to be prepared, and to work together creatively. Our experienced actors are also delightful, but I am hopeful about the bright future of youngsters.”
The filmmaker reflected on his collaborative process, noting that handing over a script and working closely with actors—both young and seasoned—is an inspiring experience. He highlighted the importance of mutual respect, preparation, and creative energy on set, which helps in crafting memorable cinematic experiences.
Bazmee is currently busy with his upcoming project No Entry Mein Entry, following the massive success of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise. Fans and industry insiders alike are eager to see how he continues to blend comedy, drama, and crowd-pleasing storytelling in his next venture.
